Topic #9: What's Next?

            It is true that we have about two weeks left to the end of this semester, and to be honest it is sad to say that almost my plan in this semester including entertainment and education is not accomplished.

            For entertainment, I planned to come back to my country in New Year and Christmas Day in order to spend holidays with my families and my friends. Unfortunately, it cannot be true because I will not come to my country in this holiday. The reason why is that my parents do not allow me to return. It is so sad. They say that it spends a lot of money for airline tickets. Moreover, I just returned in the summer, so it is a short time to go back again. I also have plan to travel somewhere with my friends, yet they return to their countries in this holiday. Thus, this plan may be fail.

            For education, I think after finishing this semester, I still do not have enough TOEFL score to admit to the university so that I should try to study harder.

The plan for next semester, to be honest, I have not decided yet. Maybe, it is essential to study harder to get enough score to apply to the university and spend the holiday as Americans do.

Topic 8# losing one sense

            If I had to lose one of my five senses, which would it be? Actually, to be honest, I do not want to lose my any sense including sight, taste, touch, hearing, and smell because every sense is very important for human life. However, if I had to lose, I would choose the smell. Reason? I thinks It seems to be less effect to me than another sense.

            Sense of touch. Of course, I really do not want to lose it. Touch is all over. If it were lost, people cannot be people. They cannot move, act, eat or even feel any else. They just live like trees. That’s freaking terrible.

            Sense of sight. It is the most second important sense in my opinion. It is very hard for people to work, play, study, and even take care of them without sight. Even more, I do not want to live in the dark world so that I will not choose this sense.

Like sight, due to not desire to live in the silent world, I do not want to lose sense of hearing as well.

            Two last senses I can choose are taste and smell. They seemed to be less effect to the live if people lost them. People can live mostly like normal people. Thus, losing each of them is okay. However, I really like to eat especially delicious food, and I do not want to live without eating yummy food so that I never choose sense of taste. In conclusion, smell were okay to lose if I had to lose one of senses.   

Topic7# what would you un-invented

What would you un-invent?

Uhm, let me see...It's really a interesting question. I have some idea to answer this question such as gun, tobacco, or booms, something like that. However, if I had had a power, I would have made the computer with video game un-invented, yet I was crazy about game online when I was a child. Although video games are very fantastic, there are many reason to them disappeared

About ten or twenty years ago, game online was not developed like today, children played with their friends out-door under sunshine. Therefore, they had a good health and improved social communication with other children. They could learnt about the environment as plants or animals.

However, today in rapid development of video game, including game online, as many as children addict to play game. They do not know anything beside games which they play. They do not like to go outside to play with other children. They just want to stay alone in their room to live in their virtual world. Therefore, they are unhealthy and have lack of knowledge about environment and social information. Moreover, worst thing is that there are many games which are sexual or violent are not suitable to children, so those can effect children that can do some illegal or commit a crime.

Topic6# Timer travel

12 Monkeys, Bill & Ted Excellent Adventures and other fictions tell interesting stories about adventuring to the past.

For me, if I could go to the past, I really wanted to be here in an occasion on which the Egypt built their pyramids. Pyramids are one of the most mysterious and impressive structures of human history, and many scientists including me attempt to research the way Egypt can build these monuments with lack of technologies. Some people say that these pyramids were built by aliens, but I do not believe it. Therefore, I desire to come back to the past to know exactly how the Egypt can establish these structures In addition, I have like to read and discovered about the Egypt’s tradition and culture since I was a young boy, which usually support me to know more about mystery of pyramids.

Thus, If I had a time machine, I would like to return to when the pyramids were built, in particularly when the Great Pyramid of Giza, the most famous and biggest pyramid, was established.

Topic 5# A pet peeve

“A pet peeve is a particular and often continual annoyance” according Dictionary.com. Sometimes, I have to face in a real life. Pet peeves in some cases are funny, but in other cases they make me feel annoyed. For instance, when we got line to buy tickets with my friends in a cinema, many people did not get in line and jump in front of us to try to get their tickets first. This made me got really annoyed and angry. Other example is a small trouble of traffic in my countries. When I was stopping in the intersection because of red light, some young boy and gangs who wanted to make a stupid fun usually worked their car hooter loudly while the light was still red. This also made me and other people so annoyed. These are some example I had had experiences before I came to here

Topic 4# I am handsome/ beautiful, but

If I have a chance to change one thing about my physical appearance, what will I change? It is really an interesting question, and everyone will possess an own different answer. Some people desire to change their eyes which will be bigger or smaller, or others want to change their nose to be higher.

However, I do not want to change any my physical appearance, although I am not perfect. The first reason is that my body is a treasure I receive from my parents and God, so I appreciate about that.

Beside that, the most important reason I do not want to change my physical appearance is that this is not good for health because of risk of several operations to change a face or a body. In case I am lucky, I have a perfect operation. In the future, next several years, my health will decline very quickly.

Hence, I do not want to do something cause not good to my health.

Topic 3# I speak...?

If I could be instantly fluent in one language that I do not currently read or speak, among many languages I want to learn, I wondered that I like to select Spanish for several reasons.

First I like to travel around the world, and Spanish is one of the most popular languages in like English, so being able to know fluently Spanish is really convenient and good for me to travel and communicate with many people who live or speak Spanish such as Spain or several countries in South America.

Besides that, many words in English come from Spanish, so if I could master in Spanish, it would be easy for me to learn English.  

Moreover, my favorite is soccer, and I really like Real Madrid, a famous soccer team in Spain. I hope I will have an opportunity in the future to visit or live in Spain in a period time in order to travel many beautiful places in there as well as watch my love soccer team. Thus, this is a intense reason I would like to learn Spanish.

In conclusion, excepting English, Spanish is the most favorite language I like to study.

Topic 2# The first impression in Cali

The first day I came to California is one of the days I could not forget in my life because some emotion was inside me. There were many interesting things in U.S being waiting for me to adventure. I would have new life, new school, and new friends; however, I have not wanted to leave my family or my friends in my country.

When I came to California, it was at the midnight. Everything was new and interesting to me. I saw lot of foreign people around me, and they talked many different languages; however, I still confused about what I would face in the new country. Then I went to Fullerton city. The first thing I had in my mind was that this place is so boring for me. There have not been many people, and there have not been many exciting places to play as in my city in my country.

However, after I lived subsequent days in this city, I have impressed of this beautiful city, and I liked people in there. Firstly, the environment is so good with fresh air because many trees, many parks are built. Besides that, people in there are friendly and kind. When I walked around my places, every people said “hello” and smiled with me, and when I rode on the bus, people were nice to help women and old people.

Finally, I have many good things in this city, yet I am still not familiar with a quiet night in there. Maybe in the future I will love there.

Do you wanna know about me?

I'm Mike. Actually, my real name is Tran Minh Thanh Xuong, and it is a little bit difficult to say correctly my name. Thus, my friends usually call me Mike. I come from Vietnam. My life is "very simple" as every one in over the world. I am a only child in my family, so my parents love me so much. However, sometimes I feel lonely. When I was young, I wished I could have a sibling to protect as well as take care of him or her. We could play, talk,  or "argument" together. I thought it would be so happy. 

At a present, I have been in America to improve my English, study in MBA, and, especially, enjoy American life. I have many hobbies such as listening to pop music, watching the movie and soccer match,  reading books, and swimming... My favorite singer is Jason Mraz who is a famous American singer with the song "make it mine". I also like Real Madrid team, a Spanish soccer team. 

Inclusion, I am so happy to meet everyone in our class. ^^
